WE ARE OUR PEOPLE
Who We Are.
In 1997 John L. Bissell gifted all shares of JLB (then named Fabindia, Inc.) to his two children, William and Monsoon Bissell, who remain actively engaged in not only running JLB, but in also guiding the success of Fabindia.

AN ICONIC INDIAN BRAND
Fabindia.
Since 1960, Fabindia has been India’s largest platform collaborating with artisans and craft persons to create high quality, environmentally sensitive, contemporary products derived from India’s rich art and craft traditions. Today, Fabindia has over 300 retail stores across India and select overseas locations, and links over 55,000 craft based rural producers to modern urban markets.
Fabindia's commitment to creating jobs in the rural sector is well recognized. At the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting in 2007, William Bissell was granted an award by former US President, Bill Clinton, acknowledging Fabindia’s role in supporting sustainable rural livelihoods across India.
